A lackluster finale to the so-called best years of my life.
I don't feel much like celebrating.
I don't feel much like doing anything.
Through playing the waiting game. Fed up with my apathetic point of view. Won't be who you've made me anymore.
This is the silver lining in the bottom of a downturn. (we're all so) I'm long overdue for getting back on top. So sick of vain attempts to fill your shoes.

When you walk (arms folded, long hair tied tight) away from all the things you tried too hard to forget I can see how much we always had in common.
We're all heartsick, broke, and searching for direction. Keep up appearances. Keep up the facade. Leaving us to ask the age-old-question, "What the hell is wrong with girls these days?"
I can't see far enough ahead to find out which one of us is wasting our time, but I'm pretty sure that the answer will come eventually.
You're not as funny as I thought you would be before we met.

I can't imagine how we're built inside. I imagine someone else's heart and mine exchanging glances through ribs and skin making apparent decisions while sitting still.
Making excuses to contain my point of view (when was the last time you felt anything?).
Being escapist is the best way to get through to you.
Following you, honestly, from year to year and town to town in some ironic battle where no matter where we are or how few times I see you it's never nice to see you around.

He was right when he told you that you're selfish. I can see it 20/20 now. It cuts through the haze of this party. You're no better off than the year before.
You're just as lost and confused as ever.
The only thing I'm sorry for is that it took me too long just to grasp it. New friends, new life, they don't help. I've been made a fool for the last time.
It's a good thing that you've gotten so much further ahead (or at least you think you have) because the bridges that burn in the wake of your rise won't let you go back home.
Don't waste my time with another letter.

You're in a losing battle with collegiate arrogance. A comedic appearance, something worth bragging about to your friends and family.
Getting tired of defending yourself and damning everyone else.
Taking an easy page from the most iconic books. Hopefully no one ever reads the classics anymore.
Everything's gonna be alright from now on.
